Best Beach Walks Near Buddina
The Sunshine Coast is stacked with unreal coastline, and being in Buddina puts you right in the middle of it. If you want an easy win for your morning (or afternoon), grab a takeaway coffee and knock over one of these local beach walks.
Kawana Beach to Point Cartwright
Distance: ~3km one way (easy to turn back whenever you like)
This one is a classic. Start near Buddina/Kawana, walk the open stretch of Kawana Beach, and finish at Point Cartwright for lighthouse views and a proper ocean breeze. If you time it early, sunrise here is next level.
Mooloolaba to Alexandra Headland
Distance: ~5km return
If you want a longer wander with lots of places to stop, this coastal path is the go. It’s paved, easy, and runs between two of the Coast’s busiest beaches. Keep an eye out offshore—dolphins aren’t rare when conditions are right.
Currimundi Lake Circuit
Distance: ~4km loop
Want something different from straight beach? The Currimundi Lake loop mixes boardwalk, lake edges and sandy sections, with heaps of birdlife and a more sheltered feel. Flat and family-friendly, especially if you’ve got kids or a pram.
Tips for a Better Walk
- Go early to beat the heat and crowds.
- Sunscreen + hat — even when it feels “not that hot”.
- Bring a reusable cup if you’ve got one (less waste, better vibe).
- Check tide times if you’re planning rock pools.
- Keep watch for marine life during whale season (June–November).
And when you’re done? Swing back past Sunday Coffee Buddina. You’ve earned a bagel.
